Ford Transit Custom Remapping
Arguably one of the most popular vans on the road, 2nd to the VW Transporter? We’ll leave that for you to decide.
Released circa 2012 the Transit Custom has sold well over 6 millions vans in the UK since the release date Pretty impressive ey?!
So let’s get down to the business end, the engine.
Up until 2017 The elusive 2.2 TDCI DuraTorq “PUMA” engine was fitted, Which is found across a range of vehicles including the PSA range.
So what variants does the 2.2 TDCI engine come in the Transit Custom?
- Ford Transit Custom 100hp – 2.2 TDCI
- Ford Transit Custom 125hp – 2.2 TDCI
- Ford Transit Custom 155hp – 2.2 TDCI
Why produce 3 different engines for the same van? Surely that is a a very costly exercise……
Well, along with many manufactures the engine and hardware is identical throughout the range of variants.
How do they all have different horsepower if they’re the same engine and hardware i hear you ask?
Simple, they simple modify the software accordingly. So the 100HP variant is simply a detuned 155HP engine.
A little cheeky or naughty some may say, why not install the 155hp engine in all the vans, the short answer to that is, marketing, the top of the range van will have the 155hp engine, whereas the 100hp van may be a more entry level.
Fear not! We can Remap your Transit Custom from 100HP to either the 155HP variant or our full stage 1 remap takes them to 175HP.
Since 2017 the Transit Custom has been fitted with the 2.0 TDCI Ecoblue “Panther” engine
- Ford Transit Custom 2.0 TDCI – 105 HP
- Ford Transit Custom 2.0 TDCI – 130HP
- Ford Transit Custom 2.0 TDCI – 170HP
As with the 2.2 TDCI engine, the 2.0 TDCI engine shares the same hardware throughout which means they also have huge tuning potential.
